So you've heard about Plone, this smart, secure and powerful content management system and you'd like to get started. Where to begin? This training course is for you. You'll learn the best way to install Plone, how to create your first website and get started adding content, how to get quick, simple victories for your new project, and how to turn those quick victories into re-usable products you can deploy in minutes. The first day of teaching will focus on working in a web browser, and the second day will move to creating installable packages on the filesystem.

Audience

This course is intended for first-time Plone users who are interested in managing and modifying Plone sites using best-practice techniques.

Prerequisites

To successfully participate in this course, attendees will need to be able to use a web browser, a text editor (not a word processor) and know how to access the command prompt for their operating system. Knowing some HTML, XML or Python can be helpful, but is by no means required. Attendees should be adventurous and ready to learn new skills.
