ThemeSwitcher 0.8.7b1 Released

by Michael Mulich

ThemeSwitcher has come a long way since my last post. It now switches themes at the folder level. The screenshot images illustrate the switches in three folders that are respectively named by the theme they switch to. All the screenshots are from sub-locations in the Plone site, which have been marked to switch to a particular theme via a form that is available as an actions tab on the folder object (Plone Folder and Large Plone Folder). Within the form one can enable/disable ThemeSwitcher and select from a list of installed themes that are ThemeSwitcher specific.

Unfortunately some changes need to be made to a theme product to make them correctly work and display. Those specification are available on at the ThemeSwitcher wiki page.

I would like to give special thanks to trollfot (Souheil Chelfouh), duffyd (Tim Knapp) and the entire WebLion Group for their help on this project.

The example shown in the screenshots is available from the WebLion repository within the themetweaker.themeswitcher buildout directory. For instructions on how to use this buildout, see the ThemeSwitcher wiki page.

If you have any questions, please post comments or contact me (pumazi) on irc.freenode.net#weblion.

Honourable mention - thanks!

Posted by Tim Knapp at Feb 21, 2009 02:42 AM
Hi Michael,
Thanks a lot for the honourable mention above. I feel a little embarassed to be alongside the other names mentioned as I mainly just did some TTW testing and a bit of trial-and-error coding but nothing too significant. Thanks again, though, and kudos to Souheil and the WebLion Group and esp. yourself!
