New members added to WebLion team

by Mike Halm

Kevin Kalupson and Michael Miller join WebLion Development Group.

WebLion success has brought two new members to our group in recent months. Developers, Kevin Kalupson and Michael Miller, have join the core development group.  IF you would like to know a bit more about these talented guys, read on!

Kevin Kalupson

After an almost three year hiatus, Kevin Kalupson (a.k.a. kevin7kal) has returned to the WebLion team as a Programmer Analyst.  Since 2005, Kevin worked as Senior Technologist for Knewco, Inc., a start up company, whose goal is to solve common research problems through knowledge management and knowledge discovery.  His work was mostly done from remote, but included monthly meetings in either Rockville, MD or Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  His responsibilities fell primarily within the categories of System Architecture and Software Engineering.  However, as with most start ups, this varied and could change on any given day. While away from the WebLion team, not only has his experience grown, but his family has, as well.  He and his wife Cori have welcomed two more daughters to their family.  Along with Rosalie, Sofia and Anya bring the total to three.Since his return, Kevin has been immersed in open-source Web-based content management system components as a designer/developer.  He is primarily focusing on learning objects and digital object repositories. We are excited to have Kevin back on our team and welcome the benefit of his experience and knowledge.

Micheal Miller

Michael Miller (a.k.a. michaelmiller) joins the WebLion team from the Veterinary Extension Program in the Veterinary and Biological Sciences Department where he held the position of Webmaster. While at Veterinary and Biological Sciences Michael steered the web development in a new dynamic database-driven website where he migrated the Department to Plone and redesigned the site to industry standards. In addition to web development, he has also co-coordinated peace training events for the International Peace Center in Kitwe, Zambia and worked as a Behavioral Specialist assisting children with special needs developing modification plans.  Michael enjoys spending his free time training dogs as an apprentice trainer at John Jones Canine Training.  We welcome Michael to our group and look forward to his contributions on our projects.

Michael will focus most of his time working with the development team on Web publishing tools for Student clubs and groups.

Please welcome our newest members!
